Bathroom fun time

We’ve been focused on making progress building the bathroom. We built a bathroom closet wall, laid down some hot and cold water PEX piping, and put up cedar tongue and groove panels on the walls. It’s coming together quite nicely! The cedar we ended up using is from Home Depot, which seemed to be the quickest and cheapest option. Aside from having to sort through boards in the store to pick out good ones, we were able to find some decent boards and they went up easily. For the bathroom we still need to get some more plumbing fixtures, fix the tub in place, and hang up a few more cedar boards. Also this week we put two layers of finish (whey-based) on all of our window frames (the pine wood on the inside of the windows). And it’s finally spring in Vermont, which makes working on the house so much more pleasant (compared to working in freezing blizzards in the middle of winter!).

Tiny progress, Big news

Some progress has been made on the house in the past few weeks, but we’ve also been busy starting to plan a tiny wedding- you may have heard that we got engaged! We’re very excited to start this new part of our lives together, and to enjoy living in our tiny house once it’s ready this summer. Tiny simple wedding will be end of May, and then BIG just married/house warming celebration will be in the summer and we hope most of our friends and family can join in the fun then!

Now here’s photos of a few things we’ve done on the house recently. We’ve also been researching the best deal on cedar tongue and groove for the bathroom walls, gathering materials to start plumbing the water lines (PEX piping, valves, tees, etc.), and shopping for affordable kitchen cabinets and countertops.
